After starting
with manufacturing synthetic resins for coatings, Eternal
quickly set up an R&D department soon after establishment.
After 30 years of development, we have completed successful
production lines for Acrylic Resins, Saturated & Unsaturated
Polyester Resins, Alkyd Resins, UV-curable Oligomers and Monomers,
Amino Resins and Phenolic Resins. Our R&D experience has
lead to development of core techniques of polymerization,
condensation, emulsification, esterization, UV curable, and
IPN polymerization, amongst others.
Even though our
resins are not directly sold to consumers, they are used in
almost every type of merchandise in the market, from as small
as buttons, artificial work of art, cans, and tapes to as
big as tanks and yachts. Eternal resins are everywhere.
In this age of
encouraging high tech and environmental protection, we devote
increasing R&D resources to improve resin efficiency.
For example, this year we developed the following products
solely based on our own techniques: (1) High Solid Resins
for Coating (2) Floro Resin for Coating (3) Coatings for Vacuum
Metallization (4) Resins for Paper Glaze (5) UV Lacquer for
Discs (6) DVD Bonding Adhesives (7) Dicing Tapes. The quality
of our products is approved by domestic and oversea customers,
which in turn is a great boost for our R&D team.
We aim to keep
the same attitude and enthusiasm for providing customers with

The electronic industry
in Taiwan is well known for it's dramatic growth and importance in the global marketplace.
However, in the future, self-produced key electronic raw materials will be indispensable,
if a highly-competitive integrated industry is to be obtained.
Since it was established, Eternal has been devoted to researching and
developing. We have already matured our core technologies for synthetics and photo-resist
materials. As the electronics industry increases in size, we have become devoted to
developing raw materials for this sector.
For the PCB industry, we have been manufacturing dry film photo-resist
and LPSM. We aim to manufacture build-up materials with built-in passive components in
anticipation of higher-density interconnection, to provide a better edge of integration
for customers.
The IC industry opened a new page for copper manufacturing process, and
Eternal launched CMP slurry in the nick of time to cooperate with the existent electrical
interlayer, W metal and STI grinding liquid to provide customers with complete CMP
grinding materials. In addition, DUV photo-resist for deep hypo-micron and various molding
compounds are the new products we are promoting now.
The photoelectric industry is a newly-risen one, and LCD two-dimension display is the
champion. Eternal will launch related photo-resist and color photo-resist materials at the
right time to serve customers. |

R&D is to create something from naught.
This concept applies to the development of new materials.
The beauty of photoelectric products, the vision of bio technology, the
desperate need of new energy and the attraction of aeronautic engineering. All of these
require endless research & development of new processes and materials.
It is researchers' job to grasp the industrial pulse, integrate
resources, plan strategies with corporations and put into practice exactly what is
thought. This is also the first step to score a success in researching and developing new
materials.
Technology originates in people, and new materials originate in
people's wisdom. People decide to fail or succeed. Determination to challenge the unknown
future, diligence to explore new knowledge and persistence to stand up again from failure
all guarantee success.
